PRE-AUTHORIZED GIVING PLAN
What is the pre-authorized
giving plan?
The Archdiocese of Toronto has established a Pre-Authorized Giving Plan to assist you in your support of the work of St. Joseph The Worker through your regular Parish Offerings and Church Building Fund.
Pre-Authorized Giving is a very simple procedure. When you participate in pre-authorized giving, your offering will be withdrawn from your account on our about the 20th of the month. This amount will then be deposited to the Parish’s account.
This amount will be receipted at the end of the year for tax purposes.
Advantage for the donor:
-Convenience—no need for envelopes, looking for cash, or writing cheques
-Continual support of your home church when you are away
Advantage for the Parish:
-Regular, dependable flow of contributions to the parish
-Reduction of in cost of offertory envelopes
-Reduction of bank overdrafts
How do I enroll?
This is how you make you gift through the Pre-Authorized Giving Plan.
-Decide the amount of gift to St. Joseph The Worker and Church Building Fund to be withdrawn from you account each month.
-Fill out the form in this brochure and attach a cheque from your bank marked “VOID”.
-Put the form & void cheque in an envelope and place in the collection basket or leave it with the Parish Office Staff.
WHY DIRECT DEBIT?
We are implementing this Pre-Authorization Giving Plan at the request of several of our Parishioners who have talked to their friends, who use it elsewhere, and who find it meets their needs and lifestyle. This plan is not for everyone, but we want to make it available to those who would use it.
We respect that giving is a very personal thing, but we hope that through the implementation of this plan, and the convenience and efficiency that it brings, it will encourage our Parishioners to support it. We look forward to your participation, and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Parish Office.
Who looks after the plan?
The Office of Stewardship and Development of the Archdiocese of Toronto administer the Pre-Authorized Giving Plan for the Parishes.
CONFIDENTIALITY & SECURITY
We are committed to keeping your personal information confidential and secure, and have taken measures to protect the security of your personal information. To guarantee security and confidentiality please make certain that you place your enrollment form and void cheque in a sealed envelope and either place it in the collection basket or mail it to the Parish Office.

CALCULATING THE MONTHLY PRE-AUTHORIZED GIVING
To help determine the amount of one’s monthly deduction, the following calculation is presented as an example and guide.
Please note that the Special Diocesan Collections through the year have not been included in the calculation given below.
Offertory:
Averages @ $20 per week X 52 weeks = $1040.00
Building Fund:
Averages @$20 per month X 12 months = $240.00
Total contributions for the year = $1280.00
To calculate the monthly pre-authorized giving: Divide $1280 by 12 = $106.66 per month
Round up to $110.00 per month
